New blogger, looking for blog host for student blogs that will be part of an assignment I'm giving to high school students . . .
Blogger / Blogspot is the only one I've fully tested so far, and from an educator's point of view, it has fatal flaws
Blogger CONs:direct links to XXX sorry blogs via BlogSpot "Next Blog" button
slow to load and edit
poor or missing instructions for image handling
hosting spyware / adware blogs, also linked via "Next Blog" -- EWEEK article below
Blogger PROs:free
attactive, easy to read & use themes
likely to improve under Google's ownership.

I use AOL Journals, LiveJournal AND Blogger. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. The AOL-J gets the most hits, by far, Blogger is easiest to customize, and LJ has that handy "Friends" feature--and polls that don't work very well.- Karen
